summary:
Fine motor skills, imagination and creativity work together to create a flower worth sharing.

Show a child a flower and a smile is bound to follow. Flowers are universal for showing we care, adding beauty and allowing us to help something grow. With construction paper and a few other items, your child can create a flower that may not grow, but will help grow your child’s creativity.
What You’ll Need:
- Construction paper or cupcake liners
- Wooden craft sticks
- Small foam or paper cups or a cleaned egg carton
- Glue stick
- Blunt, child-safe scissors
What To Do:
- Help your toddler cut out shapes for flowers. They can be ovals, squares, triangles or squigglies – whatever shape she likes! Or, simply use a cupcake liner for the flower.
- Attach the flower to the wooden craft stick using the glue stick.
- Push the wooden stick into the bottom of the paper cup.
- If you are creating many flowers, push them into the individual egg holes in the bottom of the egg carton for a whole flower garden!
- The single flowers using the paper cups can be personalised by cutting out a small leaf out of green construction paper. Ask your child what she would like written on it. Then, glue it underneath the flower on the craft stick. This is a great place for a name or short saying – even a small doodle drawn by your child.
