HUGGIES® Nappy-Pants, Pull-Ups®, DryNites® and Little Swimmers® pants products to be made in Australia
On 7 February 2013 NSW Premier, the Honourable Barry O’Farrell, officially launched a new $28 million production line at Kimberly-Clark’s nappy plant in South West Sydney, demonstrating the company’s commitment to innovation and its Australian manufacturing operations.
The investment allows us to locally produce the Huggies pants range at our Ingleburn nappy plant, where a total of 240 highly skilled manufacturing specialists operate multiple lines producing Huggies products for Australia and New Zealand. The Huggies pants range includes Huggies Nappy-Pants, Pull-Ups Training Pants, DryNites Pyjama Pants and Little Swimmers Swimpants.
Scott Usitalo, Managing Director, Kimberly-Clark Australia and New Zealand said the company has been successful in growing the relatively new nappy pants market in recent years using imported product.
“This $28 million investment in locally made Huggies pants demonstrates our confidence in Australian manufacturing. It provides 27 new jobs and secures employment for our existing employees.
By manufacturing locally we can develop innovative products tailored specifically for our Australian and New Zealand consumers and respond more flexibly to market demand as well as enhance our cost competitiveness,” he said.
“The great news for Western Sydney is this investment by Kimberly-Clark has secured the future employment of 240 highly skilled manufacturing specialists at Ingleburn,” said Mr O’Farrell who was joined at the event by Campbelltown MP Bryan Doyle and Camden MP Chris Patterson.
You can expect to see the first Australian made Huggies Nappy-Pants range appearing on shelf for the same price this month.
